Agniis the metabolic element of the body responsible for transforming all elements that enter our system.Agniis used for digesting food, but also at the mental level - thoughts and emotions.
The first diagnostic element performed by a consultant, therapist, or Ayurvedic doctor during an examination is to check the strength of the digestive fire in the body. If it is weak, it needs to be strengthened before proposing further stages of development or therapy.
The body must have the ability to digest and metabolize things, foods, information, or energy that are meant to heal, strengthen, and develop it.
Agniis the fire of our body, which we call metabolism. Incredibly important, present in every part of the body. It is the key to balancing the body and maintaining that balance. It is a central concept of Ayurveda at the level of body and mind. Whatever happens in the body, at the cellular level, in the mind, it is fundamental to know what is happening with the fire and how to maintainagniat a healthy level. If someone has fallen ill, it means that theagniis disturbed. If it is not functioning correctly - the flow of life energy is disrupted.
At the physical level- it transforms food into nutrients that form tissues. If it does not work properly, food is not digested correctly and toxins - ama - are produced.
At the mental level- it assimilates what we read, watch, listen to, and learn. If it is not strong, we cannot absorb knowledge. The food you provide for your mind must be fully digested; if not, blocks form in the channels of the mind, and the mind becomes cloudy, scattered, lacking clarity. Depressive, anxious, or obsessive-compulsive states can arise.
The mind, just like the body, requires our care and attention to its well-being. What we surround ourselves with affects who we become. We nourish ourselves not only at the body level but also at the mind level. Energy, information, words, content, images, sounds, music, touch, taste, smell - all of this is food for our mind, which, by assimilating and digesting these energies, shapes itself in their image.
At the soul level- one of the qualities of the soul is light and radiance. A person who is dead - has no agni, has no life, and lacks natural radiance. The soul does not get sick; the soul is always healthy!Agni
is the element of fire, energy that radiates, responsible for regulating our body temperature, for digestive and metabolic processes. It is present at all levels, at the material, physical, and subtle levels. It is a sign that there is still life in the body.We have 13 types of digestive fire in the body, but the most important is the digestive fire
Jatharagni, located in the stomach. All types of agni are:
- 1 Jatharagni - digestive fire
- 5 Bhutagni - metabolic fire of elements (elements)
- 7 Dhatuagni - tissue fire
"
When Jatharagni is strong, there is no room for disease.Symptoms of a healthy metabolism and strong agni:• good appetite, proper perception of all tastes
• good digestion at the body level - balanced metabolism
• regular, complete bowel movements, natural urge upon waking in the morning
• happiness, clarity, positive mind
• clean tongue, without coating, pink
• high energy level, vitality
• good and restorative sleep
• good health and immunity, we do not get sick
• appropriate body weight for body structure
• enthusiasm for what you do
Symptoms of disturbed metabolism and low agni:
• gas, constipation, indigestion, acidity, hyperacidity
• coating on the tongue, mucus - sinuses, runny nose, throat clearing
• reduced appetite or too high
• impatience, instability
• our immunity decreases
• mental confusion, cloudy mind, anger, anxiety
• emotional disturbances, anxiety states, depression, constant tension
• weakness, fatigue, falling into lethargy
How can we positively influence our metabolism, that is, our internal digestive fire? Here are some examples:
- The strength of the digestive fire depends on the sun. It rises at noon when the sun is at its zenith and then gradually weakens. It is best to eat until midday, and lunch should be the most substantial meal; then the food is easily digested and absorbed. Breakfast and dinner should be lighter.
Jak możemy korzystnie wpłynąć na Nasz metabolizm, czyli wewnętrzny ogień trawienny? Oto przykłady:
- Siła ognia trawiennego jest zależna od słońca. Wzrasta on w południe, kiedy słońce jest w zenicie i potem stopniowo słabnie. Najlepiej jeść do połowy dnia, a obiad powinien być najobfitszym posiłkiem, wtedy jedzenie zostaje bez problemu strawione i przyswojone. Śniadanie i kolacja powinny być lżejsze.
- The digestive fire is also very strong in the middle of the night. This helps to digest the remnants of food in the digestive tract, eliminate toxins circulating in the body, and at the level of the mind and emotions - organize all the information we experienced throughout the day. That’s why sleep during the night hours, especially between 10:00 PM and 2:00 AM, is so important. :)
- Consuming foods that align with a person's Ayurvedic constitution.
- Considering the current season and consuming foods that naturally occur in nature during that time.
- Maintaining time intervals between meals - 5-6 hours between major meals such as breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and at least 2-3 hours between snacks. The interval between dinner and breakfast should be at least 10 hours, and ideally at least 12 hours. This gives the body the opportunity to properly digest the previous meal and prepare the stomach and intestines for the next meal.
- Do not consume food when you are not hungry. It is better to skip a meal than to eat when there is no sense of hunger or lightness in the stomach.
- Never eat cold meals or drink cold, chilled beverages. Meals should be hot or warm, and drinks should be warm or at room temperature.
- Only eat freshly prepared meals. Food loses its life energy, prana within 8 hours of being prepared. Do not eat foods that are more than 1 day old. Reheated, refrigerated, or frozen foods do not contain nutritional life energy.
- Use herbs and herbal infusions as needed to enhanceagni and cleanse the digestive system.
In Ayurveda, toxins are calledama. Toxins arise from an improper lifestyle and as a consequence of bodily imbalance. When the body and dosha are balanced, toxins do not form.
Agni (fire, metabolism) andama (toxins) have opposing natures, which is why plants that contain a high level ofagni and consequently raise metabolic fire in the body reduce the amount of toxins in the body.Agni of plants attracts negative energy from toxin deposits in the body and removes them, burning them away, cleansing the body.
